What care will I receive before my knee replacement at ORTHOKnox?
You will receive the best care from our team at ORTHOKnox. Meet our physicians and board-certified surgeon here! Dr. Hovis’s experience in robotic knee surgery is unrivaled in the region, ensuring you the best knee replacement experience at ORTHOKnox.
Before your surgery, your doctor will meet with you to discuss your options and design a personalized treatment plan for your knee. They will walk you through the surgery and recovery process beforehand. You will be able to ask questions, too, so you feel as prepared as possible for your surgery.
What treatment will I receive for my knee replacement?
If conservative treatment options (physical therapy, rest, weight loss, anti-inflammatory drugs) do not work for your knee pain, then you likely need a knee replacement. A partial knee replacement can help relieve pain from arthritis that is only localized to one area of the knee (inner, top, or outer). Dr. Hovis will replace the damaged area and preserve the healthy tissue for a more natural-feeling knee.
Some patients may qualify for a partial knee replacement with MAKOplasty®, which is a minimally invasive surgery. This technologically advanced method involves computerized imaging and precise navigation using a robotic arm. MAKOplasty® results in a smaller incision, less pain, blood loss, and scarring, a reduced hospital stay, and faster recovery and rehabilitation.
If you have damage to all three compartments of your knee, you may need a total knee replacement. During a total knee replacement, your surgeon will replace the damaged part of your knee with metal components and plastic spacers. At ORTHOKnox, your doctor will use the latest designs and technology to ensure the best fit and increase the lifespan of your implant.
What care will I receive after my knee replacement at ORTHOKnox?
Your doctor will do a follow-up with you after your surgery to make sure your recovery is going well. Our team will also be there for you during your rehabilitation as well. Our group of on-site physical therapists will work with you to design an exercise program to get you back on your feet and moving in no time!
