Our advanced elbow care includes:

Ulnar Collateral Ligament Reconstruction

Ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, commonly known as Tommy John surgery, is an increasingly common procedure in baseball players and other throwing athletes.

Too commonly, an athlete presents having heard or felt a pop on the medial elbow during a throw. They now experience pain in the medial elbow with a loss of accuracy and velocity in pitching. Sometimes they experience hand numbness and tingling with throwing.

Ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction restores the torn ligament and medial elbow stability. When coupled with the correct rehab and a return to throwing program, we have excellent experience with this procedure in returning to play.

Arthroscopic Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow results in deterioration of the tendon fibers that attach to the bone at the outside of the elbow. Playing racquet sports is only one cause of tennis elbow. Many patients with tennis elbow develop the symptoms from work or other activities that require repetitive use of the forearm and wrist muscles.

Most cases of tennis elbow are treated non-operatively; however, if surgery is required, an arthroscopic technique for tennis elbow surgery affords the majority of people successful results.

Arthroscopic Treatment of Elbow Arthritis

Inflammatory arthritis and osteoarthritis are occasional causes of elbow pain. Arthroscopic surgery can treat arthritic elbow conditions as well as remove loose bodies associated with synovial disorders. Because an arthroscope is used, recovery is faster than with open elbow surgeries.

Total Elbow Replacement

Total elbow replacement is a treatment for elbows damaged by significant forms of arthritis. Total elbow replacement involves removing the damaged portion of the elbow and replacing it with an artificial hinge that can restore pain-free motion and function.
